Parker Young is delighted to partner with a leading name in the UK food industry to recruit a Senior Customer Manager. This pivotal role is focused on managing our client’s relationship with Tesco,  driving sales, profit, and market share growth through exceptional customer management and strategic business planning.

About the Role
As the Senior Customer Manager, you will be the key commercial interface with Tesco, responsible for building strong relationships with their Buying and Supply teams. Your main objective will be to deliver outstanding results in sales, profit, and share growth, ensuring best-in-class execution of ranging, pricing, and promotional strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a Joint Business Plan with Tesco, focusing on mutual growth and success.
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Category, Marketing, and Supply to integrate insights into commercial strategies.
  • Deliver a 'business partnering' approach to ensure best-in-class supplier service and engagement.
  • Translate shopper and category insights into clear, actionable plans that provide a competitive edge.
  • Support inclusion and diversity initiatives within the organisation.
  • Embrace personal development and demonstrate a commitment to health and safety practices.

We are looking for someone with…

  • Extensive knowledge of the retail landscape, with a particular focus on Tesco and FMCG business strategies.
  • Proven track record of leading complex commercial negotiations with major grocery retailers.
  • Hands-on experience with Tesco systems and processes, including Core Connect, TescoLink, and Dunnhumby.
  • Strong skills in category and shopper insights, with the ability to translate data into growth strategies.
  • Experience in building trusted relationships with Tesco's Buying, Supply, and Category teams.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with confidence in forecasting, P&L management, and scenario modelling.
  • Adaptable, collaborative, and proactive, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver results against tight deadlines.
