Our Team


Dave Young, Managing Director

Dave is the Managing Director and Founder of Parker Young Recruitment. Dave set up the business after more than a decade recruiting Marketing, Sales, HR and Digital roles for businesses ranging from FTSE 150s to high growth technology businesses. Dave’s experience spans a range of recruitment specialisms, including Executive Search, Executive Interim and bespoke mid-to-board level Commercial, HR and Digital Recruitment. He has brought this experience and his established network to build Parker Young, working with clients and candidates to build relationships and mutual trust for the long term.  This makes him happy. 

Outside work, Dave’s a family man and spends as much time as he can with his wife and two children.  Although he can also occasionally be found on the golf course, in the gym or enjoying a good meal or a pint. 


Ellie Horton, Marketing Executive

Ellie is Parker Young’s marketing executive and our resident social media ninja.  Ellie also supports the recruitment process and makes sure that clients and candidates receive the great service we commit to.  Ellie joined us as a graduate from the University of Birmingham. When she’s not working, she loves hopping off for a city break, listening to drum & bass and drinking espresso martini's – often all at the same time.


Matt Harrison - Recruitment Consultant


Matt is a consultant who works closely with Dave, to deliver exceptional candidates in Marketing, Sales and Category Management. Matt comes from a successful background in retail store management, where he saw many of the products he talks to his clients about on the shelves before, now developing his knowledge on what it takes to get them there!

When he's not at work Matt enjoys stand up comedy and taking care of his pride and joy of the automotive kind. He also enjoys music of all varieties and has been to the Tomorrowland festival twice (which is awesome apparently!)


Karen Arch, Non-executive director

Karen is a non-executive director and advisor to the Parker Young team, having worked with us over the years as a client and a candidate, giving her a view on all aspects of our business and the service we offer. Karen is a global HR veteran, with more than 20 years’ business focused HR leadership experience and a successful track record of delivering exceptional results in managing large scale global change programmes, Talent Management and Development and Organisational Transformation. Karen has developed multi-site international teams and sourced key talent within varied industries including, technology, financial, retail, FMCG, property and manufacturing.

When she’s not working with Parker Young and running her own HR consultancy business, Karen is usually found spending time being the token girl in a houseful of boys with a passion for baking and gin!


Mike Prenton - Career Transition Consultant

Mike has joined us on an Associate basis to lend support in the field of Career Transition / Outplacement. Mike helps  professionals who are between roles to make good decisions- be that helping to work through "What next?" or offering more practical advices around job search, linked in  & CV development.

Away from work, Mike likes to be out walking in the Dales - or heading back to his  Merseyside birthplace to follow his beloved Everton FC.
