Shopify Developer - Yorkshire

Parker Young has been approached by an FMCG business who has experienced significant growth in online retail and d2c sales in the past 18 months and has recruited a series of key roles in that time to help capitalise on the opportunity to take the business much further in this direction. The latest specialist they now require is a Shopify Developer.

Key requirements and responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for technical development on our Shopify ecommerce site, including configuring and managing various e-commerce systems to enable continual smooth operation and sales, such as shipping courier integrations and picking/packing/warehouse systems
  • Implementing new website features and making improvements to existing website features utilising various apps on the Shopify platform, APIs and our integrated technologies
  •  Work with our customer services and ops team to assist them in changes or looking up information relating to customers orders or subscriptions
  • Carrying out updates to the e-commerce catalogue and feeds including adding new products, configuring product bundles, setting up discount codes and promotions
  • Making changes/updates to our websites including changing banners, promotional text, customer notices, emails etc.
  • Closely monitoring, testing, diagnosing, fault-finding and fixing issues reported using our websites or associated systems to ensure continued smooth operation for all customers
  • Working with the head of digital retail to produce reports, working with data from various systems to analyse sales performance and trends

 

Key Skills requirement

  • Knowledge of Shopify or similar ecommerce systems
  • At least 5 years experience and knowledge of frontend and backend web development e.g. HTML5 / JavaScript / CSS / PHP.
  • Experience working with third-party APIs to build bespoke web functionality
  • Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL
  • Experience working with ReCharge, Brightpearl and Shiptheory (or similar/equivalent systems) would be beneficial
  • At least 3 years experience working with, configuring and integrating e-commerce systems and knowledge of the end to end processes
  • At least 3 years’ experience of having worked in e-commerce/digital – ideally in FMCG direct to consumer or retail
  • A good understanding of UX concepts, ways to improve user experience and the customer journey
  • Able to work in a dynamic, ever changing and fast paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial and experimental mindset
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral – fluency in English
