Category Executive - Yorkshire

We are delighted to be working for one of the UK’s leading FMCG manufacturers, in search of a Category Executive. 

This varied and cross functional role will see you make informed recommendations to both marketing and sales teams that will directly maximize category sales. You will maintain business relationships by supporting customers and internal stakeholders and you will develop business across channels to further drive this company’s success.  

With a need to be able to interpret complex data and simplify it effectively into coherent recommendations, and with the responsibility to drive sales and meet targets, the position will be an exciting challenge and a well-varied role that will keep work interesting and competitive. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Inform the business of market performance 

  • Effectively interpret market data to identify potential opportunities and risks to the business, and then make recommendations to the business accordingly 

  • Work with sales team to ensure annual targets for volume and market share are met 

  • Undertake product range reviews working closely with the customer and the relevant account 

  • Build customer relationships by participating in formal business review meetings as well as by informally engaging in discussions and contact 

  • Work to close key-listing and distribution gaps, and/or work to aid customers in closing their key-listing and distributions gaps within our existing products  

  • Drive the development of range, pricing, promotions and merchandising with each account 

  • Work with sales and marketing to implement in-store execution plans, understanding shopper buying habits and demographics 

  • provide impartial category expertise to customers to make the company a first point of call 

  • Communicate effectively with brand managers to ensure that plans and initiatives are reflected in brand plans
